Condition Rule Set
The condition rule set contains additional data for a standard condition that you can use to influence how the standard condition can be changed or replaced by individual conditions.
You use permitted replacement categories
to specify how and to what extent the individual condition can change a standard condition.
The condition rule set also controls the following criteria of the individual condition:
Default values
Value restriction
Field modification
Integration
Your settings in the condition rule set directly affect how you edit individual conditions. When the system creates validity periods for conditions, it uses the set of rules that are relevant for the valid-from date
of the condition.
If you have created an individual condition, the system uses the following check to find the related rule:
The system determines the related standard condition for the valid-from date of the individual condition.
The system determines the set of rules for the standard condition and checks whether the replacement category for the individual condition is permitted.
If it is, the system checks whether there is a rule for this replacement category for the valid-from date of the individual condition and applies this rule.
Note
If a condition group is changed at some point during the validity of the individual condition period, the system runs these checks again for the date on which the condition group was changed. Note that when a condition group is changed the assigned set of rules and the rules assigned to the set of rules are also changed. The checks that are run on the date on which the condition group was changed are also run for the set of rules or for the rules for the new standard condition.
Prerequisites
You can use the condition rule set for all currency conditions. You can create a rule for the absolute markup and a rule for the relative markup only for conditions whose amount category allows absolute and relative markups. For more information about amount categories, see Amount Category.

To enter a condition rule set for a standard condition, call transaction F9COGR2 (Edit Condition Group)
and make settings on the Set of Rules
tab page.
Permitted Replacement Categories
In the Permitted Replacement Categories
group box, you specify the replacement categories that are to be allowed for editing individual conditions. If you have selected the checkbox for a replacement category, you can select the required rule category from the Rules of Condition Set of Rules
table and create a rule.
Rule Definition
You can create rules with a particular validity period as described under Editing the Set of Rules Tab Page. When you create a rule, you need to edit the characteristics of at least one field.
You cannot create two rules with overlapping validity periods at the same time.

Note the special dependencies of the validity periods for individualization. For more information, see Validity Periods for Individualization.
If you have permitted the Selective Replacement
replacement category, you must create at least one rule with a validity period. You need to flag all fields that are to be modifiable through individualization in the contract. You can also restrict the value range or default values of these fields.
If you have permitted the Replace Completely
, Absolute Markup
and Relative Markup
replacement categories, you can create a rule with a validity period if you wish. All fields in the contract are modifiable for these replacement categories. Therefore, you cannot select a field explicitly. However, you can restrict the default values and value restriction for particular validity periods.
Changing Field Characteristics
When you edit the field modification, note the following restrictions:
You cannot change a field to an optional entry field if it is a required entry field as defined by SAP. However, you can change this to a display field or hidden field if there is a default value.
You can hide a field that is defined as a display field by SAP, but you cannot modify it in any other way.
You cannot change a field that is defined as a hidden field by SAP.
