This amount category supports condition determination.

Structure

The basic data for the calculation of interest is available in condition processing. Depending on the settings in condition type Customizing and in condition editing, you can define the following interest rates:

  • Simple interest rate

  • Interest rates for tiered, interval or mixed tiered and interval calculation

  • Interest rates for the tiers of condition determination

  • Interest rates for the complex tiers of condition determination

Basic Data

The following fields are available for editing conditions in the amount category 105020 (Debit Interest):

  • Condition Form

  • Interest Calculation Method

  • Interest Calendar

Note: If you choose actW / 252 in the Interest Calculation Method field, the system displays the Interest Calendar field.

  • Rounding Type

  • Rounding Unit

  • Payment Currency

  • Time Unit for the Interest Rate

  • Interest Calculation

  • Interest Settlement Frequency

If you choose the value X (exponential) in the interest calculation field, the system displays the interest settlement frequency field.

The following fields are available, if you select the checkboxes percentage-based reduction and amount-based reduction in the dialog structure amount category in condition type Customizing for your application:

  • Reduction of Percentage Rate

  • Reduction of Amount

  • Reduction of Reference Interest Rate

  • Reduction of Minimum Interest

  • Reduction of Maximum Interest

Action 1: Specification of a Simplified Interest Rate

The value of the Tiered or Interval Calculation (Item) field is 0 (no tiered or interval calculation).

You use the following fields to specify a simplified interest rate.

  • Percentage Rate

  • Reference Interest Rate

  • Absolute/Relative Markup/Markdown for Reference Interest Rate

  • Markup/Markdown Reference Interest Rate

  • Minimum Interest Rate

  • Maximum Interest Rate

  • Formula

  • Formula Description

Action 2: Specification of Interest Rates for Tiered, Interval or Mixed Tiered and Interval Calculation

The value in the Tiered or Interval Calculation (Item) field is not 0.

The Condition Item (Upper and Lower Limit) field is available. In the Tiered Calculation, Interval Calculation, and Mixed Tiered and Interval Calculation screen areas, the following fields for the specification of interest rates for tiered, interval or mixed tiered and interval calculation are displayed:

  • Amount Limit (Screen Output)

  • Percentage Rate

  • Reference Interest Rate

  • Absolute/Relative Markup/Markdown for Reference Interest Rate

  • Markup/Markdown Reference Interest Rate

  • Minimum Interest Rate

  • Maximum Interest Rate

  • Edit Formula

  • Formula Description

Action 3: Specifying interest rates for the tiers of condition determination

The value in the tiers for condition determination field is 1 (tiers for condition determination).

The fields for the specification of interest rates for tiered condition determination are identical to the fields for tiered calculation (see Action 2). These are displayed in the Tiers for Condition Determination screen area. The Condition Item (Upper and Lower Limit) field is an exception that is not available for condition determination of tiers.

Note Note

Note the following difference between tiered calculation and tiers for condition determination:

The reference value for the tiers in tiered calculation is the calculation basis that is set in condition type Customizing. The system also uses the interest rate of the determined tier on the result calculation type as the calculation basis defined in condition type Customzing.

The system determines the reference value for the tiers in condition determination based on the settings on the Condition Determination tab page, such as turnover class, period of use, and determination period. The system uses the interest rate of the determined tier on the result calculation type as the calculation basis defined in condition type Customzing.

End of the note.
Action 4: Specifying Interest Rates for the Complex Tiers of Condition Determination
  • Defininition of the complex tiers of condition determination.

The value in the Tiers for Condition Determination field is 2 (complex tiers for condition determination).

The Complex Tiers for Condition Determination screen area displays the following fields for defining the complex tiers of condition determination:

    • Amount Limit of Complex Levels for Condition Determination

    • Tiered and Interval Calculation (Item)

    • Condition Item (Upper and Lower Limit)

    • Text for Tiered/Interval Condition Item

  • Specification of interest rates for the complex tiers of condition determination.

If you select a line and choose Item Details in the Complex Tiers for Condition Determination screen area, the system displays different fields depending on the value in the Tiered and Interval Calculation (Item) field.

    • The value in the Tiered and Interval Calculation (Item) field is 0 (no tiered or interval calculation).

The system displays the fields for specifying a simple interest rate (see Action 1).

    • The value in the Tiered or Interval Calculation (Item) field is not 0.

The system displays the fields for specifying interest rates for tiered, interval, and mixed tiered and interval calculation (see Action 2).
