A condition group category is an application-specific group of condition categories that enables certain business processes or procedures to be executed. Condition group categories group together condition categories for different business purposes.

Condition group categories and condition categories form the highest level of financial conditions and are provided by SAP in system Customizing. They cannot be changed. Customer enhancements are not possible.

 

The condition group categories and condition categories define the basic function of financial conditions. The condition group category determines the frame in which the condition category passes on certain properties and fields to a condition. The condition group category is used for control and filter purposes.

The relationship between the condition group category and the condition category is as follows:

A condition group category groups together several condition categories. One condition category can be used in several condition group categories. Amount categories and date categories can be assigned to a condition category.

The aim of condition group categories is to group together condition categories for business applications and to prevent contradictory combinations of conditions in the contract.

SAP provides the following condition group categories:

Different applications use different condition group categories. Account Management (FS-AM) uses condition group categories 1 to 9. Bank Analyzer (FS-BA) uses condition group categories 1, 6, and 11 to 14.

For each condition group category, you must define whether retroactive changes can be made to conditions that are based on the condition group category.

The following settings are possible:

  • You can change conditions on any date, irrespective of whether they have already been used.

  • You can only create or change conditions in the present or the future. Changes in the past are not permitted. Conditions can only be changed from the current day onwards.

  • Conditions can be changed up to the date on which they were last used. This means that any change is possible, even in the past, as long as the condition has not yet been used.

  • There are restrictions on the changes you can make to conditions, even if they have already been used. The application specifies explicitly whether retroactive changes to conditions are permitted and to which extent they are permitted.

    The Customizing settings in your application control the permitted scope of retroactive changes. You define the number of days before the date of last use in which you can change conditions.

    If retroactive changes to conditions are not possible or desired, you cannot create new conditions until the first calendar day after the last date of use.

    Example Example

    For example, a settlement condition is considered as used in Account Management if the valid-from date of the condition is before the end date of the last settlement period.

In Bank Analyzer, you can change conditions at any time, irrespective of their use.

In Account Management, conditions from condition group categories 1, 5, und 6 can only be changed up to the date that they were last use. Conditions from condition group categories 2, 3, 4 and 8 can always be changed in the present and in the future. Both variations are possible for condition group category 7.

Integration

The following graphic shows that several condition categories can be assigned to one condition group category and that one condition category can be contained in several condition group categories. Several condition group types can be assigned to one condition group category.
