Defining the Object Display Format of the Portal Catalog

You can choose to display items in the Portal Catalog by object ID, object name, or both. By default, objects are displayed by object name only.

Note

This configuration applies only to the Browse tab in the respective editors. Results in the Search tab are displayed by object name only.

1. Edit the appropriate iView (see Selecting the iViews to Configure) in the Property Editor (see Property Editor).

2. Display the properties in the Advanced category.

3. In the Display Text Format of Tree Nodes property, choose one of the following:

nodeTextModeTitle

Displays the object name only

nodeTextModeId

Displays the object ID only.

Note

Only the last component in the PCD namespace is displayed.

nodeTextModeIdAndTitle

Displays both the object name and ID.

The object name is displayed first followed by the ID within parentheses. For example:

Content Admin (com.sap.portal.content_admin_role)

4. Save the changes you have made and close the editor.

5. If needed, perform these steps again in other iViews for other portal editors.

Note

You may need to refresh the folder or the Portal Catalog for the changes to take effect.
