Pre-configured Roles 
Pre-configured roles enable portal users to access the full scope of standard portal content. The pre-configured roles are shipped with the default portal installation, and can be modified as needed to suit any business environment.
The portal provides a modular administration approach for delegating the portal's administrative tasks—you can use the standard SAP administration roles (see Administration Roles) or create your own administration roles to suit your environment (see Delegated Administration).
In addition, the portal provides several every user roles that support non-administrative portal tasks. Each every user role is tailored to suit a specific scenario or installation (see Every User Roles).

Do not modify objects located in the standard Content Provided by SAP folder (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct). Objects under this folder are reserved for SAP use only and are liable to change from version to version, including patch upgrades.
Before you begin to modify the standard roles, read Delta Link and SAP Content Objects.

Additional roles are installed with the portal to support specialized NetWeaver capabilities. You may need to activated or populated these roles with users to be make them visible. For example:
