Object documentation Pre-configured Roles Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

Pre-configured roles enable portal users to access the full scope of standard portal content. The pre-configured roles are shipped with the default portal installation, and can be modified as needed to suit any business environment.

Use

The portal provides a modular administration approach for delegating the portal's administrative tasks—you can use the standard SAP administration roles (see Administration Roles) or create your own administration roles to suit your environment (see Delegated Administration).

In addition, the portal provides several every user roles that support non-administrative portal tasks. Each every user role is tailored to suit a specific scenario or installation (see Every User Roles).

Caution

Do not modify objects located in the standard Content Provided by SAP folder (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct). Objects under this folder are reserved for SAP use only and are liable to change from version to version, including patch upgrades.

Before you begin to modify the standard roles, read Delta Link and SAP Content Objects.

For information about the initial permissions assigned to the pre-configured, see Default Permissions.
