Procedure documentation Creating SAP Connector-Based iViews Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This type of iView launches RFCs and BAPIs to SAPsystems by means of the SAP System connector.

Note

If you want to create iViews based directly on SAPapplications, see Creating SAP Application iViews.

Prerequisites

·        A system based on the SAP System connector has been defined and configured. The SAP System connector is supplied and deployed with the portal. See Structure linkEditing SAP System Properties.

·        A system alias pointing to the above system has been defined. See Structure linkEditing the System Alias.

For more information, see Structure linkCreating a System Landscape Object.

Procedure

...

       1.      Launch the iView Wizard, as described in Launching the iView Wizard and First Steps.

       2.      Choose the template SAP RFC iView to initiate the appropriate wizard and choose Next to continue.

Note

You may create copies of this default template and then choose to create new SAP RFC iViews based on them.

       9.      Review the options defined for the new iView and choose Finish.

To make changes, choose Back until you return to the appropriate screen.

Next Step

   10.      Choose your next step and click OK.

·        You have the option of opening the object Property Editor at the end of the wizard.

The iView may need editing before it can be used as intended, for example enabling Drag&Relate.

If you want to define the new iView as a template, by setting the Object is a Template property to Yes.

·        You have the option of restarting the wizard to create a new iView.

Result

An SAP RFC-based iView is created in the selected folder.

You may preview the iView in several ways; see Structure linkPreviewing an Object (iViews and Pages) and Structure linkPreviewing an Object in an Editor (iViews and Pages). If needed, you may edit the default properties in the Structure linkProperty Editor.

Note

When you create an iView based on the default SAP RFC iView template, the new iView is linked to the iView template through a delta link relationship. Any modifications you make to generic properties in the iView template will be updated in the new iView.
