Function documentation Navigation with a Service Map Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Service Map iView is an ERP-specific variant of the portal Workset Map iView. It serves as a central point of entry and guided access to the services of SAP service modules such as the Manager Self Service (MSS) module, or the Employee Self Service (ESS) module.

A Service Map iView displays three levels of navigation hierarchy and contains:

A short textual explanation of each service in the module

            Identifying pictograms of first-level items

Direct links from the third-level items to the target forms and pages

Integration

The content developer creates the Service Map iView using the template Service Map iView, and adds it to the relevant service module.

The PCD has stored per module:

·        Text descriptions of all items

·        Pictograms of all items

Depending upon the position of the module in the navigation hierarchy, the iView can appear as one of the following:

·        A tab in TLN, with each item in the module as a subtab

·        A node in the Detailed Navigation iView of the navigation panel

During runtime, the Service Map iView reads the relative location of the parent folder containing the services, accesses the PCD, where it reads the contents of the folder, and generates a map of the service module contents. The individual entries of the map are displayed in the content area and correspond to services in the SAP services module.

Clicking a link in the displayed iView opens a new headerless window containing an appropriate form for a specific task, or an information page.
