Background documentation Editing Queries Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Some portal interfaces for the content administrator, such as the Structure linkQuery iView wizard and the Single Relation Editor, display query content areas which allow manual editing, as well as automatic, UI aided editing. The ability to edit queries manually, using expressions and functions beyond the capabilities of automatically entering objects, fields, and operators, offers greater flexibility in influencing the results of navigation within the portal.

Additionally, editing queries manually enables the content administrator to facilitate correlation between business objects of different systems by performing transformations of object keys, for example by concatenation or trimming.

Supported Functions and Expressions

Functions allowed in the free text areas are determined by the Structure linkDistributed Query Engine (DQE). For detailed information, see Using Query Functions with the Distributed Query Engine located at service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides ® How-to Guides ® Portal, KM and Collaboration ® Portal.
