Changing Roles and Worksets
Changing roles and worksets means:
· Changing the structure, for example deleting entries in the hierarchy or adding new entries
· Changing the properties of roles and worksets with the Property Editor
When changing a
role or workset, keep in mind that other objects could be derived from these
objects. This relationship between the objects is a
delta link.
Changing an object always results in the change being copied to all the
objects derived from this source object. Also see
Inheriting
Properties.
You can change a role as follows: Search for the role in the Portal Catalog and place it in the Edit Area of the Portal Content Studio. Make the changes in the Role Editor.
You can change a workset as follows: Search for the workset in the Portal Catalog and place it in the Edit Area of the Portal Content Studio. Make the changes in the Workset Editor.
You created roles and worksets and want to change them.
...
1. Search for the object you want to change in the Portal Catalog and click with the secondary mouse key on the corresponding role or workset and choose Open. Alternatively, you can set the object to edit mode by double-clicking.
A tab page is opened for the object in the Edit Area of the Portal Content Studio.
2. Make your changes to the object by for example:
¡ Removing entries
¡ Adding entries
¡ Changing the properties of contained objects

You do not need to save when you change hierarchies. Changes to role and workset hierarchies are automatically stored in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). However, you must save the changes you made using the Property Editor.
Once you have made your changes, all the objects derived from the role or workset also contain these changes.
You can also change linked worksets and roles. For more information see Changing Linked Objects in Roles and Worksets.
You should not change the original objects delivered by SAP (e.g. administrator roles). Changing the original object would be equivalent to making a modification, since you would change an object that is not in your namespace.
You can find out
how to change objects delivered by SAP by reading
Delta Links and SAP
Content Objects.
