Object documentation Role: Every User Core (eu_core_role) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Every User Core role contains the basic functionality of the portal (portal personalization iViews) and an empty Home workset. The empty workset serves as a placeholder for merging external roles that contain physical content objects assigned to an identical Home workset.

This role was introduced to NetWeaver ’04 in EP 6.0 Stack 11. By default, no user groups are assigned to this role. For guidelines and recommendations for using this role, see Every User Roles.

Note

This role is provided with the basic portal platform installation.

Structure

The content of the Every User Core role is structured as follows:

·        Home (empty workset)
(
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/com.sap.portal.eu_core_role/com.sap.portal.home_core)

At runtime, this empty workset is populated by other roles containing a Home workset using smart merging portal technology. The MergeID of this workset is: com.sap.pct.home.

·        Portal Personalization (workset)
(
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/com.sap.portal.eu_core_role/com.sap.portal.portal_personalization)

¡        Portal Theme (page)

¡        Portal Language (page)

¡        User Mapping (page)

¡        User Mapping (Remote iViews) (page)

¡        User Password (page)

The Portal Personalization workset provides the user interface that allows portal users to define their portal preferences from the Personalize link in the portal header area. For information, see Structure linkPersonalizing Your Portal in the Portal User Guide.
