Predefined Planning Functions
Use
You use predefined planning functions in order to solve special planning tasks - in particular in the areas scenario definition and simulation. SEM-BPS uses external applications that are incorporated into SEM-BPS for these functions. The predefined planning functions comprise the following areas:
Documents
Integration
When you generate plan data with the predefined planning functions, you can use this data as the basis for further planning steps that you carry out with other planning functions. The data generated in planning is also available to the other SEM applications that access the same data basis – especially the
SEM-CPM applications.
Prerequisites
In order to use the predefined planning functions, you must have the required external PC applications installed on your PC.
Features
You can use the predefined planning functions to handle the following planning tasks:
You use this function to model dynamic processes in the enterprise and to derive planning measures from the models. You can define complex scenarios where you can examine the behavior of your enterprise under changing conditions and you can influence this behavior in the simulation by altering the parameters. For dynamic simulations, SEM-BPS uses the simulation program Powersim Constructor.
You use this function in order to gain a process-based view of the activities carried out in an enterprise and to determine whether or not these activities contribute to increasing the enterprise value or not. SEM-BPS uses the program Oros ABCplus for activity-based management.
With this, you can access documents, which you have assigned to certain characteristics and key figures in the
SEM Business Information Collection (SEM-BIC) component.
