Process documentation Enhancing the Planning Layout  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

You can easily enhance a planning layout created in BW-BPS for manual planning. This enables you to change what is displayed in the entry screen for manual planning. For example, you can include a key figure scheme to display additional calculated key figures. If you want to enhance a planning layout that has characteristics in the lead columns, you can rearrange the characteristics in a hierarchical tree structure, for example, whereby the nodes can be displayed either collapsed or expanded.

Prerequisites

·        The planning level and the layout contain the key figure Key Figure for Displaying Planning Layouts (0KEYFG_FLAG). This is necessary for technical reasons. You can hide this key figure in the Key Figure Scheme tab page under Enhanced in the enhanced layout.

·        The totals line needs to be hidden in the original planning layout.

If the key figures are contained in the data columns, the system displays a totals line by default. To hide this line, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Lead Column Settings in the layout and deactivate the Show Total indicator.

·        If you want to use the planning layout in a planning application that is closely integrated with SAP CRM (see also CRM Analytics), refer to the prerequisites described in Special Features for Close Integration with SAP CRM.

·        You need to have selected the relevant planning area in the SAP menu under Business Planning and Simulation ® Planning Content ® CRM Analytics ® Planning Services ® Change Planning Area.

·        You need to be in the Settings for Planning Services screen.

Process Flow

...

       1.      All planning layouts are organized by planning level and displayed on the left of the screen. Select the layout that you want to enhance.

       2.      Make your settings in the tab pages Header Area, Key Figure Scheme, and Lead Columns (see Lead Column Display).

       3.      Use the Preview tab page to display the effects of your settings. The data displayed in the preview are generated example data.

Note

If the settings options offered under Settings for Planning Services are insufficient for your requirements, you can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) Changing the Enhanced Layout (UPX_LAYOUT_RENDER) to access the settings for generating the DHTML planning screen. For more information, see the BAdI documentation.

       4.      Save the enhanced layout.

       5.      If the original layout used as the basis for the enhanced layout is then changed after the enhancement, the system automatically applies the changes to the enhanced layout the next time you call it up. To confirm the changes made automatically, save the enhanced planning layout.

       6.      If the enhanced planning layout is to be used in the SAP GUI (see Front Ends for Entering Plan Data), activate for the corresponding planning folder the Dynamic HTML (DHTML) display for the layout. You do this from within the SAP menu under Business Planning and Simulation ® Planning Content ® CRM Analytics ® Planning Services ® Customizing ® Layout Display for Planning Folder.

If you want to use the enhanced planning layout in the Web browser or in planning applications with close integration to SAP CRM, no other settings need to be made because DHTML represents the only front end in this case.

Result

When planning is executed in the SAP GUI or in the Web browser, the planner sees the planning screen element that is displayed in the Preview tab page.
