Process documentation Creating External-Facing Portal Content  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

This IT process describes the steps that are related to creating content for an external-facing portal.

Prerequisites

     You have completed the IT process step described in Configuring the External-Facing Portal.

     You are logged on to the portal as an administrator. The steps below show, in parentheses, who is responsible for performing each step.

     You have the necessary portal permissions to work with the portal objects you need to maintain.

     You have installed the usage type Developer Infrastructure (DI) for developing your own applications.

Process Flow

       1.      Develop light content, by performing the following:

...

                            a.      Develop light content applications for use in the external-facing portal (developer).

                            b.      Deploy the applications to the portal (system administrator).

       2.      Create content from the deployed content (content administrators).

For example, create roles, pages and iViews from the deployed light content applications. Content can also be created from out-of-the-box applications.

Result

Portal content for anonymous and registered users is now available in the external-facing portal.
