Definition

In an exchange agreement, fees are used to settle the difference in value between the materials that are exchanged.

Use

The following examples show how fees are used:

·        If an exchange partner has its warehouse at a location with poor transport infrastructure and the other exchange partner stores the same material at a location with good transport infrastructure, this results in a difference in value between the materials at the different storage locations. The difference can be settled with a fee.

·        A fee can be used to balance out the higher storage costs and processing costs for a specific exchange partner.

·        If the exchange agreement is settled using a base product, a fee can be used to balance the difference in value with respect to the actual material price.

Integration

Fees are entered in the system as condition records. The condition records for fees in exchanges do not differ from the condition records in the standard system.

You can also enter fees as formulas.
