Geographical Grouping of Business Locations

Use

For informational purposes, you can:

Group business locations geographically by linking each location to a hierarchical, geographical grid consisting of three levels (region, area and sub-area)
Define managers for each area at each level of the grid

This location area assignment (LAA) data appears in the business location master record and can also be used as selection parameters in certain reports.

Prerequisites

To assign managers to the geographical grid, you select from users already maintained in the SAP Oil & Gas System.

Before assigning managers to the grid and selecting location area assignments for business locations, you must define regions, areas, sub-areas and location area assignment keys in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream).

To do this, choose SSR ® Basic Settings ® Retail Network Geography.

Features

You can display the user address maintenance screen for managers directly from the Maintain LAA Manager Assignment - Entry screen and from the maintenance and display screens for business location master data.

Activities

You assign managers to each region, area and sub-area . For more information, see Maintaining Manager Assignments.

You assign a location area assignment key to each business location. For more information, see Master Data at the Business Location Type Level.
