Procedure documentation Maintaining Meter Readings  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

If meter readings cannot be received from service stations through the interface for meter reading upload, you can enter meter readings manually.

The system processes manually entered readings in the same way as meter readings uploaded from service stations. For more information on the processing of meter readings, see Processing of Meter Readings.

Prerequisites

If required, you can replace the delivered subscreen that contains the History Information data section with your own subscreen. To do this, in in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream), choose SSR ® Fuels Processing ®  Process Configuration ®  Assign subscreen for meter reading maintenance.

Procedure

...

       1.      Choose Logistics ® Sales and Distribution ® Service Station Retailing ® Bulk material handling ® Meter readings ® Maintain.

The Fuels Meter Readings: Maintenance screen appears.

       2.      Enter the following:

¡        Location ID, date and time to specify the location and time combination for which you want to maintain data

¡        The appropriate meter event type. The event type determines how the system processes the meter reading data after it has been uploaded. In the template delivered by SAP, the possible entries are:

§         Sales flow if the meter reading is an upload of quantity sold. The data can be used as a basis for goods movements and invoicing.

§         Estimated flow if the meter reading is an estimate because no actual readings have been received. It is processed in the same way as a sales flow

§         Flush if the meter reading is due to a flushing. The reading can be processed for invoicing as a negative sale (that is, you credit back the quantity to the service station).

§         Reset. The system captures the sales flow count before the meter was reset and the value that the meter is reset to.

§         Quantity. If the information received is the quantity sold, it is processed in the same way as a sales flow, except that the meter reading is calculated from the quantity and not vice versa.

Note

You can create your own meter event types. To do this, in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream), choose SSR ® Fuels processing ® Process configuration ® Define meter events.

You can modify the field settings of the screen for entering meter readings. To do this, in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream), choose SSR ® Fuels processing ® Process configuration ® Configure fields for manual meter reading.

       3.      Choose Enter.

In the Meter list table, a list of the materials sold at the location appears. For sales flows, the following data is displayed:

¡        Previous count

¡        Current count. You can enter the meter reading in this field.

¡        Sales flow quantity

¡        Price rates. If necessary, you can change the proposed price.

¡        The access type specified in the business location master record determines whether service type is also displayed.

       4.      Enter or change data as required, and save your entries.

       5.      A message confirms that meter readings have been processed.
