Function documentation Reallocation Rule Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The reallocation rule tells the system that existing assignments from previous ARuns should be included in the current ARun. By reading the old assignments as well as the new ones, you increase the probability of satisfying the release check rules and therefore being able to ship goods sooner.

Example

Suppose you have a sales order for two materials:

-         10 T-shirts, size XL

-         Zero T-shirts, size L

The release rule requires that at least 60% of the stock must be available for the goods to be shipped. You have 10 of the XL shirts, but none of the L shirts. Since only 50% of the material for the sales order is available, the allocation run assigns the XL shirts status R (reserved), but the overall sales order fails the 60% release check rule and therefore does not ship.

Sometime after the ARun, you receive five L shirts into inventory. In the subsequent ARun, the system now finds the old 10 XL shirts plus the new 5 L shirts, at total of 15 shirts of the 20 ordered. To fill the order now 75% of the stock is available. It passes the release check and the 15 shirts will be shipped.

Integration

The reallocation rule works together with the Action Rule. If you are using the fill-up strategy, you must activate the final release check in Customizing for the allocation type.

Features

The reallocation rule consists of the following:

·         Allocation logic specifying that the reserved quantities (that is, the old allocations which have MRP status R) are to be read again before the release check. It also determines whether the Reallocation icon appears on the allocation list screen (for allocation runs that are started online via a selection screen rather than in the background). Also, for each allocation run, you can choose whether to have the system include:

o        All assignments

o        Only those assignments matching the selection criteria. This allows you restrict the reallocation, for example, to one or more materials in an existing sales order.

·         The Allocation Event.

Currently the selected status is read separately from the allocation event and the reservation status of the allocated quantities.

Activities

       1.      In the Customizing, to define your reallocation rule, choose AFS Allocation Run  ® ARun Detail  ® Define Allocation Logic ® Reallocation . Specify whether you want to include all assignments or, only assignments matching the selection criteria.

       2.      In the Customizing, choose ARun Type and enter the reallocation rule in the corresponding allocation type. You can access the ARun Type by either of the following navigation paths:

¡        AFS Allocation Run  ® ARun Detail  ® ARun Type

¡        AFS Allocation Run  ® ARun Optimizer  ® ARun Optimizer Control  ® ARun Type
