AFS Product Catalog and Online Store

Purpose

Using the SAP Internet Application Components Product Catalog and Online Store, you can present your range of products and process sales transactions on the Internet. The AFS Online Store provides your customer with product and price information at grid value level, displays converted grid values, and allows you to hide layout areas and materials depending on the season.

Note

You will not find categories in the AFS Online Store, because they are assigned via a user exit before the sales order is created.

Features

The following steps are necessary for working with the AFS product catalog and online store:

You create a product catalog.

In the product catalog, you enter basic data important for sales and distribution (such as the sales organization, distribution channel, and division) as well as the price determination control for the online store.
You create a hierarchical product catalog and structure your range of products in individual layout areas, to which you assign product lists.
If you so choose, you can store text, pictures, sound files, and video material in your product catalog.
You define language-dependent variants of your product catalog. Each online store is based on exactly one of these variants.

You create your online store in Customizing.

In the profiles for product presentation, you specify how the product information will be displayed.
You specify the customer management in the customer administration profile.
You specify the payment transaction in the profiles for quotation and order control.
You enter master data for the online store.

Your customer uses the online store to view your product range and order products.

AFS Restrictions

The AFS Online Store does not support all of the processing possibilities of AFS Sales:

Categories are not selectable, but are subsequently assigned using a user exit.
The multi-store order function is not available.
You cannot process any returns using the online store.
You cannot carry out an automatic quantity distribution in the online store.
AFS does not support material-dependent conversion.
The system does not carry out the season check at SKU level until either the quotation or the sales order is created.

Configurable materials cannot be offered in the online store.
There are no sales sets in the online store.
AFS does not support cross selling in the online store.
