When the system is set up, the system administrator defines different types of data to control the processing of sales documents. The definition of the data takes place at three levels:
In Customizing, you can make additional AFS-specific settings at each sales document level. For each sales document type, for example, you can define if and when order scheduling is carried out (see
Order Scheduling). At item category level, you can specify whether there should be an automatic presizing based on the grid control data during the fast order entry.AFS-specific control elements in sales document types

In various sales documents such as contracts and credit and debit memo requests, the system normally does not create schedule lines. If you want to use these sales document types and enter grid values, please note that schedule lines must be permitted for the corresponding item categories.
In AFS you can determine that the system processes weight and volume at schedule line level.
Dependent on the item category, you can activate the determination and processing of weight and volume units at schedule line level in the sales document. If you work with this setting, you must maintain weight and volume units for all materials that use this item category. The units should be dependent on the grid value and category. You do this in the material master under additional data, in the AFS Weights & Volumes view.
In the detail view for the schedule line, you can check the valid weight or volume units in the sales document and change them manually if necessary. Manual changes are not subsequently overwritten with the entries from the material master. In the sales document, the system calculates the weight or volume per item automatically from the weight/volume data of all the schedule lines.

If different weights or volumes have been maintained in the material master for the sales unit for the individual grid values, the sales unit in the order has priority over the base unit of measure when calculating the weights or volumes .
When a delivery is created, the weight or volume units from the schedule line in the sales document is transferred accordingly to the batch split item of the delivery document.
