Use

Not all stock keeping units of an AFS material have significant cost differences. It therefore makes sense to combine grid and category values so that you can valuate them combined. The AFS system uses the valuation type for this. The valuation type specifies the characteristic value of the valuation category. In the case of the split valuation of AFS materials (see Basics of Split Valuation), the definition of the valuation types is not carried out in Customizing. The valuation types that are valid for the automatic split valuation are defined in the material master.

Features

You define the inventory managing valuation types in the view AFS valuation view in the material master. You can use the convenient fast entry screen. Choose a preference stock keeping unit for each valuation type you want to define. The valuation price that you manually assign to this SKU or which is determined by the product costing is valid for all SKUs of the same valuation type. In the material master record you can manage an accounting view with valuation-relevant data for each valuation type (see Accounting Data of the Valuation Types).

In the list display you get an overview of the created valuation types with the respective preference stock keeping units and their prices.
