Chart Engine in Interactive Planning
The Chart Engine is a C++ library used to generate business graphics. The Chart Engine is integrated in the Demand Planning (DP) and Supply Network Planning (SNP) interactive planning desktop. However, some of the standard features that the Chart Engine offers are available only in limited form in DP and SNP interactive planning. This documentation describes the limitations that interactive planning has, as compared with standard Chart Engine functions.
For more information about the standard Chart Engine features, see Chart Engine.
The SAP Chart Designer is a tool for generating customizing settings (for example, colors and shading) for business graphics. The Chart Designer can be used in conjunction with the Chart Engine in the context of the Internet Graphics Service. You use it to specify customizing settings, for example specifying chart types and colors. For more information about working with the Chart Designer in interactive planning, see Chart Designer.
To use Chart Engine Customizing in DP and SNP Interactive Planning, you must activate the business function SCM-APO, Chart Usability (DP/SNP), Merging Orders (CTM)
(SCM_APO_DP_SNP_CTM
). For more information, see SCM-APO,
Chart Usability (DP/SNP), Merging Orders (CTM).
You can customize the settings of the chart engine. For more information, see Chart Engine Customizing in Interactive Planning.
For more information about the chart types available in interactive planning, see Chart Types in Interactive Planning Using the Chart Engine.
Defining chart properties in interactive planning differs from the standard Chart Engine function in that in interactive planning it is not possible to use the wizard to modify the chart. For more information, see Defining Chart Properties.
As opposed to the standard Chart Engine, the line chart is used by default the DP and SNP interactive planning desktop. For more information, see Changing the Chart Type.
In DP and SNP interactive planning desktop, you do not use the Web Application Designer. For more information, see Changing the Size and Position of Chart Elements.
