Calculation of Table of Periods for a Resource You can use this function to simulate the determination of the periods for grouping the components.
The calculation of the table of periods is also possible in Customizing during maintenance of the
period profile
. You start the function by accessing a particular period profile and choosing the
Simulation for a resource
function key.
You have maintained a period profile .
You have maintained the factory calendar for a location.
You have created a line resource and a shift sequence for this resource.
The calculation of a table of periods is illustrated in the following example:
You have set the period profile as follows:

In this example, a resource with a shift sequence of 3 shifts is used (6.00 to 14.00, 14.00 to 22.00, 22.00 to 6.00 hrs). You set a start date of 8 December 1999, for example. The simulation then produces the following result for the period profile described above:
Shifts
Period 1: 8 December 1999, 06.00 to 13.59
Period 2: 8 December 1999, 14.00 to 21.59
Period 3: 22.00 on 8 December 1999 to 05.59 on 9 December.
Days
Period 4: 9 December 1999, 06.00 to 05.59
Period 5: 10 December 1999, 06.00 to 05.59
Period 6: 11 December 1999, 06.00 to 05.59 and so on up to 18 December 1999 at 05.59.
Weeks
Period 11: 06.00 on 20 December 1999 to 05.59 on 27 December 1999
Period 12: 06.00 on 27 December 1999 to 05.59 on 03 January 2000
Period 13: 06.00 on 13 January 2000 to 05.59 on 10 January 2000
Period 14: 06.00 on 10 January 2000 to 05.59 on 17 January 2000
This then continues with weeks up to 05.59 on 31 January.
Period 17: 06.00 on 31 January 2000 to 05.59 on 01 February 2000
Months
Periode 18:01. Feb. 2000 6.00 to 01. Mar. 2000 5.59 hrs
A month always starts with the first workday and ends on the first workday of the following month.
