Supply & Demand Planning via Web Browser Access

Use

In this step, the external partner in the collaborative planning process views and enters forecast data, materials requirements or other key figures in the manufacturer's SAP APO system. Using only a web browser, the external partner can:

View planning data

Enter, edit, or delete data, for example, the weekly forecast

Choose and execute a macro for data evaluation

Drill-down a characteristic

Sort column of characteristic values

Access SAP APO alerts with the ITS service for the Alert Monitor (see Viewing Alerts in the Web Browser )

User access is restricted to authorized data and activities. User settings and authorizations are defined in SAP APO Customizing. The Collaborative Supply and Demand Planning web interface changes according to user authorization for performing certain activities. For example, the drill-down icon is only visible if the user is authorized to use the drill-down function.

Prerequisites

All prerequisites are described in the SAP APO documentation under Collaborative Supply and Demand Planning and its related topics.

Procedure

Log on in the browser. In the initial screen, define the selection criteria:

Choose a planning book.

Choose a planning view (optional)

Choose a selection (optional).

Confirm selection. The selection box closes and the characteristics overview opens.

In the characteristics overview, you see the characteristics that correspond to the planning book, for example, location, planning version, and product. If you are authorized to use the drill-down function, the drill-down icon appears next to the respective characteristic.

You see the planning book details in the lower section of the screen. If you are not authorized to use the drill-down function, you can display and change aggregated figures for either forecast or planned production, depending on the type of planning. If you have authorization, choose the icon next to the characteristic you want to drill down. Additional lines appear in the table, one for each individual item in that characteristics group. If you are drilling down on a product, for example, the figures for individual products appear.

In Edit mode, you can scroll the calendar to the right until you locate the relevant day(s) or week(s), and enter the planning data.

Execute a macro to simulate the planning results or evaluation of key figures, alerts, and other data (see below).

Change data based on simulation (optional).

Choose Refresh if you want to retrieve the last saved set of data.

Choose Save when you have finished this planning activity.

If you want to continue planning, make a new selection.

If you want to exit the transaction, log off by choosing Exit .
