Approval of a Stocking or Destocking Decision
You can decide whether the system is to automatically approve stocking and destocking decisions made by the stocking and destocking services or whether you want to approve these changes manually. If you want to approve stocking and destocking decisions manually, the system saves the changes to the replenishment indicator of the stocking and destocking services as a proposal only so that the change is not made in the location product master data or, therefore, the current planning. This takes place only once you have checked and approved the changed replenishment indicator or have changed and approved it again.
You have specified in the stocking and destocking service profiles that you want to approve stocking and destocking decisions.
In addition to information about the new replenishment indicator proposed by the system and the previous indicator, the Stocking/Destocking Approval
screen provides you with the following information to help you decide whether to approve or change the replenishment indicator:
You can view all locations in the bill of distribution (BOD) and the replenishment indicator before and after the current planning run at all these locations. You can also see the time at which the system proposed the new replenishment indicator.
For all BOD locations, you can see whether the blocking indicator is/was set before or after the current planning run.
You can set the blocking indicator manually or the system can set it if a location exclusion rule applies to the location. For more information, see Definition of Location Exclusion Rules.
For all locations in the BOD, you can see whether an exclusion reason is/was given before or after the current planning run.
You can view the stability period for the replenishment indicator. You can specify the stability period in days for both stocking and destocking in the location product master data on the SPP Inventory Planning
tab page. The replenishment indicator must not be changed within this stability period.
Note
If you have selected the Do Not Consider Stability Period
checkbox in Customizing, the system automatically sets the stability period to 0 and the Stability Period
field is set to empty. You can find the checkbox in Customizing for Advanced Planning and Optimization
under , in the following Customizing activities:
Define Service Profile for Stocking Decision
Define Service Profile for Destocking Decision
If you change a replenishment indicator, the system checks the following:
BOD
The system checks whether the same BOD is assigned to the product when you approve or change the replenishment indicator as was assigned during the last planning run in which the system proposed a new replenishment indicator. If this is not the case, the system generates an error message and does not save your changes.
Stability Period
The system checks whether your change lies outside the stability period. If your change still lies within the stability period, the system generates an error message and does not save your change.
Blocking Indicators
The system checks whether the blocking indicator in set in the location product master data on the SPP Inventory Planning
tab page for the location product for which you change the replenishment indicator. If the blocking indicator is set and you select a replenishment indicator that permits stocking, the system generates an error message and does not save your change.
Consistency Within the BOD
If you specify the Stocked
or Stocked (New)
replenishment indicator for a location product, the Stocked
or Stocked (New)
replenishment indicator must be assigned to the location product of the parent location. If this is not the case, the system generates an error message and does not save your change.
You can change the replenishment indicator on the Stocking/Destocking Approval
screen. To access this screen, on the SAP Easy Access
screen, choose .
