Definition of Global SettingsIn Customizing for the Rapid Planning Matrix (RPM), you make global settings to define which parameters are to be used when planning with the RPM.
Activate rapid planning matrix
The
RPM Active
indicator is set as standard. This indicator must be set in order to use the RPM for planning.
Define parallel processing
You can define whether the planning run is to be processed in parallel and whether additional sub-matrices are to be generated. See also: Parallel Processing .
Define behavior when colored product masters are missing
When the matrix is generated, the system explodes the component nodes and color nodes; all colors assigned to a color node are listed for each colored component. The system checks whether there is a matching product master for each combination of component and color (door red, door blue, and so on). In the
Color Behavior
field, you can define when the error message "
No product master created for colored product"
is to be displayed. The error message is displayed in the status line during the planning run as necessary.
You can make the following settings:
The error message is always displayed when the product master for the colored product is missing, even when no requirements are determined for the product.
The error message is displayed when a requirement is determined in the matrix for the component, door blue for example, and there is no product master for this component.
The error message is never displayed; the missing product master is ignored.
Define the explosion date for the component BOMs
In the
BOM explosion date
field, you can define how the system is to determine the explosion date for the component BOMs that the planning matrix has determined. See also:
Determination of the BOM Explosion Date
.
Fix component requirements
In the field
Fixing of Component Requirements Allowed
, you can specify that certain component requirements, calculated by the matrix for an APO planned order, can be fixed and thereby protected against changes in later planning runs. See also:
Component Fixing
