Assembling a J2EE Application
Purpose
The Deploy Tool provides the option of assembling your application components into a complete J2EE application. It is delivered in the form of an Enterprise Archive ( EAR ). You can manage the archives of the components as well as the application itself in the Assembler tab.
Note
By default, if you make an archive of a component in the J2EE Componentstab, it is added to the current EAR in the Assemblertab. See Making an Application Component Archive .
Features
You can use the Assembler tab for:
- Adding and Removing a Component Archive to an Application - use this if you want to add previously created archive files to the application.
- Editing the Properties of an Archive
- EAR Properties Management - use this when you want to specify the basic properties of the application EAR file. For example, additional files, security roles or context parameters.
- Making an EAR - assemble the components into one application.
