Restricting the Number of Substitutions You can make settings to determine how many substitutions are allowed for the input location or the input location product until the requirement is covered.
You have created a rule . This rule is inclusive.
On the
SAP Easy Access
screen, choose
.
Choose
(
maintain rule),
select a rule and choose
Enter
.
The individual data for the rule is displayed in the
Details
frame.
Choose
(
Change current rule
).
Select the number of allowed substitutions for the input location product. There are only two possible entries:
No restrictions
You can choose as many substitutions as required; that is, there are no restrictions. This is the standard setting.
Only one substitution
Only one substitution can be chosen. The system selects the substitution that can deliver the full quantity first – if necessary, in a delivery proposal.
If a substitution that can fill the complete quantity cannot be found, the system does not select a substitution. In this case, no quantity is confirmed.
Using user exit EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLATPT_002 a substitution can be confirmed depending on the date. The user exit is called after the check. If the user exit is active, substitutions that were returned from the rules can be selected. Furthermore, the confirmation (date and quantity) can be changed. Several substitutions are possible. In the hierarchical display you can only select one substitution.
For documentation on the user exit, see the Customizing of SAP APO under
Note
If you allow
one substitution only
, at least one substitution procedure must be assigned to the rule. Otherwise the indicator is ignored.
If you maintained the same locations with different location determination activities in a location determination procedure, the system can only interpret these as real substitute locations if the number of substitutions allowed is limited there.
Select the entity for which the number of substitutions is valid. The following selection options exist for the entity:
Location product
The number of substitutions is valid for the location product. This is the standard setting.
Location
The number of substitutions is valid for the location.
Not defined
The number of substitutions is valid for the entity that was defined in the previous rule. In the following cases, the value
Not defined
prevents the system from making any restrictions for the number and entity of substitutions:
The system has not found another rule by means of the rule strategy that is first evaluated.
The system has found another rule that is first evaluated. In this case, the entity is also set as
Not defined
.
You can define the number and the unit of substitutions by means of a rule strategy definition. This definition overwrites the settings that you have made for the number and unit of substitutions in integrated rule maintenance.
