Function documentationTPOP Forecast

You can create a TPOP forecast as a service for your suppliers. "TPOP" stands for "third-party order processing". In TPOP, your supplier delivers directly to an end customer. Your bill of distribution (BOD) is not used in the delivery. From a planning perspective, the BOD consists solely of an entry location.

You can offer to create a demand forecast for your supplier for this type of purchase order. The end customer's purchase order is then created in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM system) along with other purchase orders. The supplier is specified as the executing location in this purchase order. This enables the Supply Chain Management system (SCM system) to identify this purchase order as a TPOP purchase order when capturing the historical data. As a result, the system determines the entry location of the BOD as a stockholding location and takes into account the ordered quantity when demand at the entry location is forecasted. The system does not take into account this forecasted demand when disaggregating forecast results, that is, this forecasted demand is not included in the forecasted demand of the BOD but is saved as a TPOP forecast for the supplier only. Your supplier can display the TPOP forecast you created on the SPP — Supplier View Web UI.

Note Note

To create a TPOP forecast, you have to execute service parts planning in a scenario with SAP CRM.

End of the note.

Note Note

The system creates the TPOP forecast for the demand only, not for the number of order items or the average demand for each order item.

End of the note.

Note Note

A TPOP forecast is always a statistical forecast and never a disaggregated forecast.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • If you, as a planner, want to display the TPOP forecast on the SPP — Planner View (Internal) Web UI, you have created a business partner with the Internet User business partner role for your user. For more information about business partners, see SAP Library for SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM) under Start of the navigation path SAP Supply Network Collaboration Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Business Partner End of the navigation path.

In the location master data, you have assigned this business partner to the entry location for which the system creates the TPOP forecast. For more information, see Assigning Planners in Service Parts Planning under Business Partner.

  • If your supplier wants to display the TPOP forecast on the SPP — Supplier View Web UI, you have created a business partner with the Internet User business partner role for your supplier. You have assigned this business partner to your supplier's location in the location master data.

  • If you want to execute the TPOP forecast as a regular planning run in the Planning Service Manager (PSM), you have scheduled the following planning services for the TPOP forecast in PSM:

    • SPP: Forecast Service (TPOP Selection) (SPP_FCS_SERVICE_TPOP)

    • SPP: Forecast Service (StdDev. for TPOP) (SPP_FCS_SERVICE_MSE_TPOP)

    • SPP: Forecast Approval Service (TPOP) (SPP_FCST_RELEASE_TPOP)

    • SPP: Recalculation of FCST in Past (TPOP) (SPP_RECALC_HISTFCST_TPOP)

For more information, see Use of the Planning Service Manager in SPP and Planning Services for Forecasting.

Features

Displaying and Changing the TPOP Forecast on the Interactive Forecasting Screen

If you specify a location product for which you create a TPOP forecast in the selection criteria on the Interactive Forecasting screen, the system displays only the relevant location in the BOD area rather than the entire BOD.

Note Note

If you have selected Both in the TPOP field on the SPP Inv. Planning tab page in the location product master data, the system creates a TPOP forecast and a standard forecast for the entry location. In this case, the BOD area shows the entry location with the TPOP indicator, the entry location without the TPOP indicator, and the other BOD locations.

End of the note.

In this case, the system displays only the forecast key figures for the demand under Forecast since it creates a TPOP forecast for the demand only.

As for other forecasts, you can change the TPOP forecast in the Demand: Manual Forecast key figure. The system also approves the TPOP forecast in the same way as for other forecasts.

Only you (as the planner) can display the TPOP forecast on the Interactive Forecasting screen. Your suppliers cannot access this screen.

You access the Interactive Forecasting screen from the SAP Easy Access menu under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Forecasting End of the navigation path.

Displaying the TPOP Forecast on the Web UI

The Web UIs are used only for displaying the TPOP forecast; you cannot change the TPOP forecast here. As the planner, you can display the final TPOP forecast on the SPP — Planner View (Internal) Web UI under TPOP Forecast. As the supplier, you can display it on the SPP — Supplier View Web UI under TPOP Forecast.

You access the Web UIs either from the SAP Easy Access menu by choosing Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Reporting/Monitoring Next navigation step Web UIs for Service Parts Planning End of the navigation path, or by entering the URL in your Web browser. Suppliers can access the SPP — Supplier View Web UI using the URL only.
