This function lets you define the release criteria. SAP F&R evaluates the release profile during the automatic release process. Based on the definitions in your release profiles, the system determines whether it can release an automatically created order proposal directly or whether you have to process it manually first. A release profile can contain several release conditions.

Features

There are various release checks to determine whether SAP F&R automatically releases an order proposal.

  • You can define maximum or minimum restrictions for order proposals, which SAP F&R checks before it automatically releases an order proposal.

  • You can define the following types of restrictions:

    • Value restrictions (for example, the order proposals must not exceed a certain order value)

      • Purchase order value (= order quantity x purchase price in order unit)

      • Sales value (= purchase order quantity in base unit of measure x sales price in base unit of measure)

    • Quantity restrictions (for example, the order proposals must not exceed a certain order quantity)

      • Order unit

      • Base unit of measure

      • Special logistics unit of measure

  • You can define certain products, merchandise categories, locations, or purchasing organizations for which manual release process is always required (for example, products that are difficult to forecast, new products, or new locations). To do so, choose the Option Existence Condition option.

    You can define release conditions at the following levels:

    • Order proposal (for the receiving location)

    • Merchandise category

    • Product

    • Purchasing organization

  • You can assign release conditions to the following objects:

    • Destination location type

    • Destination location

    • Source location type

    • Source location

    • Vendor subrange (merchandise category)

Activities

You define the release conditions that SAP F&R checks in the automatic release check. If a particular condition is not fulfilled, SAP F&R creates an exception for the order proposal and you have to release it manually. You can assign this profile to one, several, or all locations for a location type.
