Function documentationShortage Overview

You can use this function to display aggregated information about the shortage situation for selected location products. If you identify any critical or potentially critical products in this overview, you can analyze the details, for instance in the Shortage Monitor.

Features

  • Critical products/potentially critical products

The system displays products as critical or potentially critical products if the threshold values defined in Customizing for the days’ supply are exceeded. You make these settings in Customizing for Advanced Planning and Optimization under: Start of the navigation path Supply Chain Planning Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step Shortage Analysis Next navigation step Make General Settings for Shortage Analysis End of the navigation path. For more information about the days' supply, see Shortage Monitor and Calculating Days' Supply and Open Quantities.

  • Sales order items/sales order quantity

The system displays items and the quantity for open sales orders. You can analyze the details of open sales orders in the Shortage Monitor on the Sales Order View subscreen.

  • Backorder items/backorder quantity

The system displays sales order items and their and their backlog quantity.

  • Rush order items/rush order quantity

You can analyze the details of open sales orders, which the system has classified as rush orders, in the Shortage Monitor on the Sales Order View subscreen.

  • Confirmation status sufficient

If products have the status Critical or Potentially Critical, suppliers can respond to this with a supplier confirmation or can send an ASN. If the supplier confirmations received are sufficient to cover the open quantity, the system assigns the corresponding status and displays this status in an aggregated format (number of sufficient confirmations) in this overview. You can view details of the request status in the Shortage Monitor application.

  • Declined ASN items

The system displays the number of ASN items that the system has declined for technical reasons.

  • Old notes

The system displays the number of old analyst notes. You define the number of days after which an analyst note is outdated (expiry date) in Customizing for Advanced Planning and Optimization under: Start of the navigation path Supply Chain Planning Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step Shortage Analysis Next navigation step Make General Settings for Shortage Analysis End of the navigation path. You can analyze notes in more detail in the Analyst Note application.
