 Profile Maintenance

Purpose

Profiles are used to configure the detailed scheduling planning board (DS planning board) and integrated functions. SAP issues standard profiles for the DS planning board that you cannot change. The following process describes how you can create and use your own profile.

Process Flow

  1. Create a profile.

  2. You can do this, if necessary, by copying the default profile and making changes to it. The following table shows where you can create profiles.

    Profiles

    Maintenance

Alert profile , key figure schema

In the area menu for Supply Chain Monitoring

All profiles except for the alert profile and key figure schema

In Customizing for Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling

All profiles except for the period profile, alert profile and key figure schema

In the Production Planning area menu under Current Settings

  3. You enter the profile at the relevant position:

  • For the DS planning board, called up directly in the area menu for Production Planning , you can enter the profile when calling up the planning board, or you can enter an overall profile in the user maintenance. You can change selected settings interactively under Settings (for example, in the strategy profile ) or select other profiles (exceptions: overall profile, work area and propagation range).

  • For order processing, the product planning table and the DS planning boards integrated into these applications, you enter the profile in Customizing for Global Settings, Order Processing and the Product planning table . These profiles are default values. You can change settings in the profiles interactively under Settings or under Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step User settings End of the navigation path (for example, in the strategy profile ) or you can select other profiles (for example, the propagation range).
