Recommendation
We recommend that you schedule this planning service for previous periods at the start of each period.
This planning service receives all location products from the PSM product selection whose demands are marked as promotion demands. It compares the demand histories of these location products with their forecast values. If the demand history of a location product is higher than its forecast value, the planning service assigns the demand category
PROMO_DEM
to all demands for this location product that exceed the forecast value.
Recommendation
We recommend that you mark the demand category
PROMO_DEM
as not forecast-relevant. For more information, see
Assignment of Demand Categories
.
The following figure shows the demand that exceeds the forecasted demand during a promotion and which the planning service assigned to the demand category
PROMO_DEM
.

The planning service writes the changed data to the DataStore objects 9ARAWCRT and 9ADEMCRT. It also changes the promotion indicator of the promotion demands on the
Adjust Demand History
screen from
1
to
2
, and sets the trigger SPP_RLG_DONE. This triggers the forecasting service.
