Checking ITS Files out of the R/3 Repository

Use

You use this procedure to check Internet Transaction Server (ITS) files out of the R/3 Repository.

Checking out files means downloading copies of the source-controlled versions from the R/3 System to the SAP@Web Studio (that is, from the R/3 Repository to your hard disk).

If you want to change ITS files that have already been checked into the R/3 Repository, you must check them out first.

If you check out files accidentally or find that you do not want to make any changes, you can also reverse this operation.

You can also check out files for read-only access.

Prerequisites

You must connect to the R/3 System from which you want to check out the files

If you are checking out files for editing, they must be assigned to a change request in the R/3 System and they must not be already checked out to another user

If you are checking out files for read-only access, it does not matter whether they are checked out to another user

Procedure

To	Procedure	Result
Check files out	In the Workspace – Repository View, select the files you want to check out. Right-click and choose Check Out or choose Tools ® Repository ® Check Out.	The SAP@Web Studio downloads the files to the working directory on your hard disk and flags them as checked out to you.
Undo file checkout	In the Workspace – Repository View, select the files for which you want to undo the check out. Right-click and choose Undo Check Out.	The SAP@Web Studio reverses the checkout operation.
Check files out for read-only access	In the Workspace – Repository View, select the file you want to check out for read-only access. Right click and choose Get or choose Tools ® Repository ® Get File(s).	The SAP@Web Studio downloads the files to the working directory on your hard disk.
