Use

Using this function, you can enter collateral for a loan that is not based on real estate objects or properties, such as a guarantee or insurance policy.

Prerequisites

You make the necessary settings in Customizing under Collateral.

Procedure

  1. Choose Master Data ® Collateral ® Create.
  2. Enter the required collateral type.
  3. If you do not know the collateral type, you can use the F4 function key (possible entries) to select the collateral type.

    Note

You can set up the collateral types according to your own requirements in the Customizing activity Define Collateral Types.

  4. The basic data screen appears for the collateral type you have selected (for example, endowment policy, stock, savings book)
  5. Enter the relevant data for the collateral type. Save your entries.
  6. Note

If you have created the collateral from within an application/ contract offer/ contract, choose Copy. The data is now included in the loan. The system first stores the changes when you save the loan. If you exit the processing without saving the loan, however, the changes to the collateral are lost.

If you save a note during Note Processing within a collateral, the system does not write the data to the database but stores it temporarily first. Only when you save the collateral or the loan does the system writes the note data to the database.
If you have already transferred a collateral with a note to a loan and then branch again from the loan to the collateral, change the existing note and save it. These changes to the note are kept when the loan is saved, even if you have cancelled the processing of the collateral.

  7. You can enter maturity data and special arrangements relating to the partner and can branch to partner management:
    1. Partner
    2. Choose Partner. The Partner Overview screen appears. You can assign one or more partners, (either created here or ones that already exist in the system), to the collateral in various roles, (for example, beneficiary or insured party). See also: Partner-Object Relationship

    3. Special Arrangement
    4. Using this function you can set a special arrangement for a certain business partner, for the selected collateral type. For example pledge or assign restitution claims.

When you choose the Special Arrangements function, the system first branches to partner management. Once you have selected the corresponding partner or created a new partner you copy this and the screen for entering the data relating to the special arrangement appears. Enter the data and choose Back. The system displays an overview of the special arrangements.

If a special arrangement has already been entered for the collateral in question, the system branches directly to the overview screen for the arrangements. You can set up a new special arrangement by choosing Create Special Arrangement. If you highlight a special arrangement and choose Select Special Arrangement, you can change the data on the Details: Special Arrangement screen.

To return to the basic data screen for collateral, choose Back.

    5. Maturity Data

You can enter maturity data relating to life insurance policies.
