Profit Center Assignments 
Use
In Customizing, you assign all account assignment objects for which contain profit-related data (such as cost centers) to your profit centers. By doing this, you specify how your company is split into profit centers. By making these assignments, you can also display selected balance sheet items in Profit Center Accounting
You can only assign profit centers to objects within a controlling area.
These assignments make it no longer necessary for you to post your data explicitly to profit centers. The system automatically transfers the data to Profit center Accounting when it is posted to the original object. You can reflect both actual and plan data from the assigned objects in Profit Center Accounting in this manner.
Integration
The following data is transferred to Profit Center Accounting:
· Revenues and sales input - through assignment of sales document items
· Direct costs - through assignment of production orders and cost objects
· Overhead costs - through assignment of account assignment objects from Overhead Cost Controlling (cost centers, orders etc.)

To obtain an overview of current assignments, see the Assignment Overview . It is also possible to display those objects which have not yet been assigned to a profit center. By going directly to the maintenance transactions for an account assignment object, you can retrieve or correct existing assignments.
Features
An object’s assignment to a profit center is stored in that object’s master record. By choosing Master Data ®Ongoing Settings, you can go directly to master data maintenance for the relevant objects, or carry out the corresponding activities in Profit Center Accounting Customizing.
Here you can make the following assignments to profit centers.
Assigning manufacturing orders (including production orders, CO production orders and process orders)
Assigning Profitability Segments
If you need to assign a large number of materials at once, you can use a special function called collective processing.
In addition, you can activate substitutions for the assignment of sales orders (see Substitutions for Sales Orders).
