Performing Memory Tuning

Use

You use this procedure to monitor, set and change memory-related parameters for each ITS instance.

You can display and edit values for the parameters listed in the following table:

Procedure

Start ITS Administration.

Enable memory tuning by taking the following steps:

Select an ITS instance and choose an AGate server hosted at the local machine.
Choose Configuration.
Choose Registry.
Choose CCMS.

You see a screen similar to the following:

Enable the AGate performance monitor by setting the following parameter:

Parameter	Description
PerfMemTune	0	Memory tuning disabled (default).
PerfMemTune	1	Memory tuning enabled.

On restart, select the relevant ITS instance and choose the same AGate server again.

Choose Memory Tuning.

You see a screen similar to the following:

The values displayed here include:

General parameters such as minimum number of workthreads, maximum number of workthreads and maximum number of sessions
Workthread container sizes
Session container sizes

ITS Administration uses these values to calculate and display the overall statistics and the total memory requirement displayed in the Results column.

Set values as required.

To recalculate and display the overall statistics before saving, choose Calculate.

The Total Memory value is accompanied by a traffic light, which acts as a warning mechanism. This value is a worst case calculation. Normally, the ITS would use a lot less memory. Depending on this value, the traffic light is:

Green for values <= 1.5 GB
Yellow for values > 1.5 GB and < 1.9 GB
Red for values > 1.9 GB
