Prerequisites

You are in the Basic List series of screens and have created a new query or want to change an existing query.

Use

As mentioned in Executing Queries, single-line basic lists, statistics and ranked lists can be displayed in graphical format. On the Graphics screen, you design this graphical display according to the values you want to display and the graphic type you use.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Features

Determining settings for graphics during runtime

If you mark the Define at runtime field, you make all the settings for the graphic dynamically, that is while the query is running (type of graphic, text and color display, or the number of values that are displayed). The options you chose on the graphics screen are used as defaults.

The option Define at runtime is always set to default every time a basic list, statistic, or ranked list is re-defined.

Graphic type

The Graphic type determines the format of the graphic.

Note

Remember that some graphic types (for example pie charts) cannot display negative number values.

To generate a graphic, text/value pairs are passed to SAP Business Graphics. When calling the graphic, you choose the values by placing the cursor accordingly (see Executing Queries). The relevant texts are generated automatically. The text for a particular value is derived from the contents of the non-numeric fields in the line of the list where this value occurs.

Number of values displayed

Under No. of displayed values, you specify how many number values you want to display in the graphic. SAP Business Graphics can display up to 32 text/value pairs. All the specifications you make on this screen are initial values for the graphic display. You can change these values using the functions in the SAP Business Graphics menu.

Activities

To conclude the Flight Connections example (see Defining Single-Line Basic Lists) execute the query and check the list that is displayed.

  1. Choose the Query ® Execute ® Execute function.
  2. You are taken to the selection screen. After you have typed your selection criteria and called the Execute This graphic is explained in the accompanying text function, the query is displayed as a list.

    Caution

If you execute the query from a screen, on which you define the query, the query definition is not saved. This allows you to test, at any time, the list that is generated from the information that you specify. You use the Save This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to save the query definition.

  3. Click on the Back This graphic is explained in the accompanying text button twice, to return to the series of screens where you define basic lists.
