Use

According to the different distribution scenarios that can use the UPS, the requirements for the posting transaction in the target system differ. For this reason, the UPS offers several posting strategies.

The posting strategy refers to one posting transaction. So it is not saved in Customizing. You can save a strategy as a user-specific default.

The posting of objects in an ALE distribution unit follows the object type serialization. The posting strategy defines how the UPS reacts in case of a posting error for a message.

You start posting of data in the target system as a background job. You have the following options:

Posting Strategy	Description	Benefits
Standard	All objects of the same object type or with the same serialization counter on level 1 are still posted. The following object types could be affected by this problem, and are therefore not posted. Also, no further messages for the same object instance are posted.	Reduces the number of subsequent errors High manual interaction
Complete posting	Only the messages belonging to the affected object instance are not posted.	Finds lots of problems at once, but subsequent errors High automation
Posting until serialization n	Posting occurs as in strategy standard, but posting is terminated at the specified serialization counter on level 1, even if there are no errors.	Allows manual interaction on the database after posting objects of a specific category

For automated posting (see UPS Status), you must save the posting strategy you require as a user-specific default, to ensure that the correct settings are used.
