Use

Several attributes are required when you create new users, assign users to employees, and assign roles to users (assign authorization):

You can define attributes relating to the validity period, password assignment, role, and various logon data.

You can define these attributes as default values. When you create or assign users, you can adopt or overwrite these default values if necessary (exception: role).

Prerequisites

You are in the Set Up and Maintain ESS Users (Start) screen in transaction HRUSER.

Procedure

  1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying textUser attributes from the application toolbar or This graphic is explained in the accompanying textChange user attributes/key date in the User/Authorization Assignment group box.

The Attributes of Users screen appears.

  1. Define the required default values. For more information on the entries that you can make on this screen, select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Note

The user group ESSUSER is a fixed user attribute that you cannot change. It distinguishes users who are authorized to use ESS from other system users, such as system administrators.

SAP provides you with a customer enhancement for generating users and passwords. For more information, see Perform Maintenance Activities.

  1. Confirm your entries with This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Result

You have now created default values for assigning attributes.
