Blank Compression
Use
You use this function to define symbols for which values must exist. This is so that the values of other symbols that have been defined or normal Word texts are output on a report.
You want to output an address consisting of a name, street, city, and country. If the system cannot find the name, you can ensure that it does not output the complete address.
The inclusion or non-inclusion of data in documents to correspond with legislative requirements is the responsibility of the user.
Features
AND / OR Blank Compression
All entries that are between the beginning and end of the control section are not output. You can link all symbols within the section using AND or OR.
WWI reacts as follows:
"+" = OR: If no value is found for at least one control symbol, blank compression is activated.
"-" = AND: If no value is found for all control symbols, blank compression is activated.
The following does NOT apply:
OR: If a value is found for at least one control symbol, a text appears.
AND: If a value is found for all control symbols, a text appears.
ELSE Branch for Blank Compression
In the dialog box for blank compression, you can specify that an alternative ELSE statement is output in your report template. The ELSE statement is inserted as an additional control symbol (for example,
<13CNG000>) by the Windows Wordprocessor Integration (WWI) program. Behind this control symbol, you can manually specify the symbol that is to be output as an alternative if blank compression takes effect.Activities
