The Performance Assessment Workbench (PAW) Author is a tool used for test design and implementation.

The PAW Author offers training and test developers the ability to:

• Develop and maintain tests using templates for various test formats
• Develop and maintain test items
• Develop and maintain the content to be tested, called performance units
• Create and maintain test pools and item pools
• Maintain the test introduction and feedback.

The PAW Author is the test editor started from the Knowledge Workbench, the tool used to create and maintain information objects in the SAP Knowledge Warehouse (KW). The PAW Author is used to edit tests, performance units and test items.

The PAW Author offers the following features, among others:

• Various templates for the creation of test items
• Configurable item and answer scoring methods
• Wizard-aided creation of performance units
• Templates for the creation of a complete test
