Use

You can use the context menu to edit structures and objects loaded in the navigation tree. The operations available in the context menu depend on the object you right-click and the user profile with which you are working.

Features

When you are in change mode in the iPPE workbench, the following editing options are available in the context menu. This list includes all the available functions:

The structure below the selected node is expanded or collapsed to the next level.

The selected node and the subordinate structure are hidden in the navigation tree.

The selected node becomes the header of a new structure. All subordinate and superior objects are hidden.

The selected node is stored in the required section and you can use the Favorites This graphic is explained in the accompanying text or the Worklist This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to load the node for editing.

You can copy the selected object.

For more information, see Copies of Objects and Structures.

You can delete the selected object and all its variants and alternatives.

You can change the technical name of the object.

The selected object is locked for other users. Other users cannot make any changes when the object is locked. You can use the Unlock option to reset the lock, so that other users can change the object.

Under certain conditions, you can change the product class assignment for the selected node:

You can change the node type of an existing node when the following prerequisites are met:

You can link the selected object to other objects. You can choose from the relationships permitted by Customizing. You can create relationships to existing objects or to objects that do not yet exist. If the object does not yet exist, a dialog box is displayed for creating new objects.

You can create hierarchy relationships (to set up a product structure, for example), and assign objects (components to an activity, for example).

You can delete an existing relationship that points to a higher-level object in the hierarchy.

For more information, see Copies of Objects and Structures.

For more information, see Structure Comparison.

The selected object is loaded in the product structure browser and you can display the classes and structures in which the selected object is included. You can also display superior and subordinate objects, predecessors and successors.

See also: Network Graphic in the iPPE Workbench.

Caution

The list of functions is limited by whether you are in change or display mode, by the user profile with which you are working, and by the object you wish to edit.

You can send the node with a description to another user in the system and the other user can use the node to access a structure.

Actions

Right-click the required object in the navigation tree to access the context menu.

The context menu is displayed with all the editing functions that are available for the object.
