Structure Comparison
Use
The function for comparing structures enables you to compare two structures or substructures in Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) and to detect which nodes are used in both structures.
Features
You can compare where nodes are used. The system compares the nodes and their subordinate structures. Alternatives and variants of nodes can also be taken into account. It presents the results in a table.
On the initial screen, there are three different options for the structure comparison.
The system compares the nodes directly below the node entered.
The system compares all the nodes below the node entered, regardless of how many levels each structure has.
The system compares all the nodes below the node entered as far as the specified level.
Objects that are used in both structures are highlighted in a different color in the results table.
You can filter the results from single-level and multi-level structure comparisons using the following options:
Only the intersection is displayed of all the nodes that are in both structures.
A delta is displayed, that is, nodes that are in only one of the structures.
/
The system searches for and displays the selected node in the other structure. This enables you to choose whether only the nodes that occur in both structures are displayed or only the nodes that occur in one structure. You can also search for individual nodes.
Actions
To compare structures, proceed as follows:
The dialog box Structure Comparison: Selection appears.
Start.
You can also start a structure comparison by right-clicking one of the objects that you wish to compare in the navigation tree and selecting Structure Comparison in the context menu. The system transfers the selected object to Structure 1 in the dialog box Structure Comparison: Selection.
