Use
You can use data archiving to reorganize transaction data that has been posted to costing-based and to account-based Profitability Analysis. You can use it to store legacy data that is no longer required in the system and to delete erroneous data or test data.

Call up archiving in the CO-PA application menu by choosing Tools ® Archiving. Here you can execute the different functions described above.

Archiving in Controlling documentation:If you wish to display archived data in a report to compare, for example, current data against legacy data, you have to select the "Read archived data also" option in the Options tab page when you create the report. For more information, see the section
Defining Profitability Reports.Archived data is displayed in the report without any particular flag. This means that the reports looks as if no data has yet been archived. If you are using archiving as a means of deleting erroneous data or test data, these two types of data are also displayed in the report along with the "genuine" data.
