Use

To display plan or actual line items in a Line Item List (Information system ® Display line item list ® Actual/Plan), you need to enter some information for the data selection.

Procedure

Entries Made on the Initial Screen

What you can enter as selection conditions depends on the plan/actual indicator and the type of Profitability Analysis. If you choose Additional selections, you can enter values for the segment level characteristics. The system ignores these in background processing.

The access method determines how the system reads the data - "as posted" or "according to the current structure", and whether it is executed in the background.

Here the system reads the line item tables CE1xxxx and CE2xxxx (where xxxx = operating concern) directly. This option is not available in account-based Profitability Analysis.

First the system finds the relevant segment numbers in the segment table. Then it uses these numbers to access tables CE1xxxx and CE2xxxx (costing-based Profitability Analysis) or tables COEP and COEJ (account-based Profitability Analysis).

Note

If realignments have been made in your system, these two methods will yield different results. In this case the characteristic values stored in the line items do not correspond to the characteristic values stored for the segment number.

The segment number contains the characteristic values which resulted from the realignments, whereas the line item contains the values to which the data was originally posted.

You can execute the line item report in the background to generate a list for printing. To do so, choose Execute in background. The report will start immediately.

If you wish, you can also define a variant for program RKEB0601. You need to enter the operating concern, the type of Profitability Analysis and the plan/actual indicator. In account-based Profitability Analysis, you also need to specify the controlling area. Once you have created the variant, you can schedule it for processing. For more information, see Structure link Background Processing in the online documentation Computing Center Management System.

Technical Note

To start the program, choose Execute. Before selecting the line items, the system checks whether the selection criteria allow it to use database indexes. If not, a warning appears, telling you to restrict the selection criteria further. The warning also contains a suggestion as to how you could do this.

If you are calling up the line items from within a drilldown report and receive a warning, you should first drill down to a deeper level and then call up line items from there.
