Use
This function enables you to select a maximum of seven sort fields. The sort fields enable you to determine the criteria used to sort the hit list of persons. All of the specific fields of infotype 0001 Organizational Assignment are available as sort criteria.
You can also select a sort type, which enables you to determine which of an employee's infotype records are taken into account (for example, the first to occur - that is, the oldest infotype record).
If a report is executed for a period, the same employee can be taken into account just once, or more than once in accordance with the selected sort type and the number of existing data records.
The following sort types are available:
The system always takes the first data record that was created (that is, the oldest data record) into account for each employee. It then sorts the data records of all employees in accordance with the specified sort criteria.
The system takes all of the data records created into account for each employee. It then sorts the data records of all employees in accordance with the specified sort criteria.
We advise you not to use this sort type for certain reports, particularly payroll reports. An employee could be included in the sort more than once, which could lead to the employee being included in the payroll more than once.
The system always takes the last data record that was created (that is, the most recent data record) into account for each employee. It then sorts the data records of all employees in accordance with the specified sort criteria.
The system suggests this sort type as a default.
If you specify more than one sort criterion, the system always sorts data in the order that you selected the sort criteria.
Determining a sort type has no effect on the contents of output in the output list. For example, you can specify that the most up-to-date data record is always output for individual reports, even if several infotype data records are taken into account for each employee when data is sorted (during data selection).
