Defining Distribution Parameters

Use

If distribution is activated in Proposal Pool Administration, automatic distribution will take place each time the evaluation is run, in accordance with the distribution parameters you define in transaction STMA and the object types you set for distribution in transaction SLWA. This also means you no longer have to schedule an automatic distribution run separately in transaction SE63_AUTO.

Prerequisites

To display parameters for automatic distribution, your translator profile must contain the authorization Proposal pool maintenance (T1) with value 4.

To define parameters for automatic distribution, you need to have authorization object S_ADMI_FCD with value TRNL in the field System administration function in your user profile. Your translator profile in transaction SLWA must also contain the authorization Proposal pool automatic distribution (T2) with value 1.

For distribution to take place during the evaluation runs, you need to have defined the object types in which you wish target texts to be distributed. For more information, see Setting Object Types for Automatic Distribution.

Each time an evaluation is scheduled, the Automatic distribution flag must be activated. For more information, see Creating an Evaluation Run.

Procedure

Call up transaction STMA.

Choose Distribution ® Parameters.

The Distribution Parameters for Evaluation Runs screen appears.

Choose the Source language and Target language for which you want to display/define the distribution parameters.

You can now view the distribution parameters for the language combination you selected.

To define distribution parameters, choose the Display <--> Change icon.

To activate automatic distribution for your chosen source and target language, select the field Distribution in assigned DCs and object types. An icon will now indicate that automatic distribution is Activated for your source and target language.

Now choose between the following Proposal Pool options:

Flagged proposals

Only distribute proposals that have been flagged for automatic distribution in the proposal pool

Unique proposals

Distribute all translations where exactly one proposal exists for the source text in the proposal pool (this option should be used with caution).

Every best proposal

Distribute every best proposal (we recommend that you do not choose this option, because you may be distributing incorrect translations that you will never be able to check).

Choose Save.

Note

If you want to reset the distribution parameters to the status they had when they were last saved, choose the Undo icon.

Result

The system will now store your user name and the date and time you changed the parameters at the bottom of this screen.

The next time an evaluation is run (with the Automatic distribution flag activated), automatic distribution will take place in accordance with the parameters you defined here, and in the object types you defined in transaction SLWA.
