Presentation Device Data Entry 

Purpose

TRM, like Warehouse Management (WM), supports both character-based and GUI RF devices. For more information, see Mobile Data Entry under Warehouse Management in the SAP Library.

As a resource, you can use a presentation device to do the following:

• Log on and log off as a resource
• Deactivate and reactivate your resource
• Perform tasks
• Raise exceptions

Before a resource can use its presentation device, the appropriate Presentation Management settings must have been made. For more information on configuring Presentation Management, see the IMG for Task & Resource Management ® Presentation Management.

1. The resource logs on to the system.
2. The resource chooses the appropriate menu options by either physically touching the options (GUI devices), or by entering a number or chain of numbers corresponding to the options (character-based devices).
3. The resource chooses pushbutton functions by either physically touching the pushbuttons (GUI devices), or by choosing the corresponding function keys (character-based devices).
4. Presentation Management receives the resource inputs and calls the appropriate services.
