This section describes the differences between the Treasury Business Partner and the SAP Business Partner.

·         New application functions for processing business partner data

The functions for processing the SAP Business Partner data show several differences when compared with the Treasury Business Partner.

For example, you cannot call up the SAP Business Partner without a role. SAP delivers the roles 000000 Business Partner, General, FTB000 Business Partner and FS0000 Business Partner FinServ. These roles are not linked to a function. These roles are only there to enable you to create data for the SAP Business Partner. Role FTB000 Business Partner contains all treasury-specific entry fields and the maintenance functions for the standing instructions (without customer).

     Note

By choosing Corporate Finance Management -> Business Partner -> Special Functions -> Standing Instructions from the application menu, you can maintain the standing instructions for a business partner. The business partner you require is automatically called in the role FTB000 Business Partner, and the entry screens for the standing instructions appear directly.

·         New role concept

As mentioned earlier, the role concept for the SAP Business Partner differs from that of the Treasury Business Partner. You can only ever call up the SAP Business Partner in one role. In Customizing, you specify the input fields for each role (field selection control). If you have defined certain information in a role for a business partner, you can see this in another role too, if the fields are displayed in the role. If you want to create a business partner, but do not yet want to assign any specific roles to this partner, you can create your partner in the role 000000 Business Partner General and FTB000 Business Partner.

In the Role Overview function, the system displays all the roles that were assigned to the business partner and were saved to the database. This includes all the roles, except for 000000 Business Partner General and FTB000 Business Partner, which are only intended for data entry and are not linked to any other functions.

The roles of the SAP Business Partner correspond to the roles of the Treasury Business Partner, except for role 1000 Treasury Partner, which has no counterpart in the SAP Business Partner. Existing Treasury Business Partners with the role 1000 Treasury Partner are transferred to the role TR0151 Counterparty for the SAP Business Partner.

·         Integration of addresses

The SAP Business Partner is connected to the central address management functions, which means that some changes have to be made to the Treasury Business Partner addresses.

·         Address ID

You assign time-dependent addresses to the Treasury Business Partner in table BP030. A key element of this table is the address ID. You must define an address ID in the partner master data. You define the address with this address ID as the default address for the business partner. Likewise, you can define an address ID for each role. The address with this ID in table BP030 is the default address for the corresponding role. Note that in contrast to the SAP Business Partner, you can set the default address ID for each business partner and / or business partner role (tables BP000 and BP1000).

All the addresses for the Treasury Business Partner (including former and future addresses) are transferred to the address pool for the SAP Business Partner (table BUT020) using report RFTBUP01 (Convert the Treasury BP to the SAP BP). The valid default address for the Treasury Business Partner is highlighted as the default address for the SAP Business Partner (table BP000).

·         Address type

The address ID for the Treasury Business Partner becomes the address type for the SAP Business Partner. You assign all the addresses for the Treasury Business Partner to the address types (table BUT021_FS) using the address determination procedure for the SAP Business Partner. Address types correspond to address IDs in accordance with conversion Customizing. You use the address usage function in the SAP Business Partner to assign addresses to address types.

For the conversion and parallel maintenance to work, it is important that the address types are processed correctly in Customizing. If a partner address is determined for a role, then the address is assigned to the address type allocated to the corresponding role. If an address type of this kind does not exist, the corresponding Customizing settings are generated and an address type is created. If you have not yet created the address type for the role in the activity Define Standard Address Type for BP Role (view V_TB008), a <Role Category>ADRS address type is generated in the conversion (for example: Role TR0100 -> address type: TR0100ADRS). The role-dependent addresses are assigned to this role during conversion or parallel maintenance.

In contrast to the Treasury Business Partner, the standard address and the standard address for the role cannot be set for each business partner in the SAP Business Partner, and are determined centrally for all business partners instead. This logic results in certain limitations in parallel maintenance.

        Note

Note the recommendations for consultants in composite Note 517102 on address usages.

·         Time-dependence:

From Release Banking 4.63/ CFM2.0, you assign time-dependent addresses for the SAP Business Partner in table BUT021_FS. Assigning time-dependent addresses to the business partner enables you to represent from and to which date a certain address was the company address, or when the business partner’s home address will change, for example.

        Note

You will find further information on the subject of addresses / address usages under Addresses and Steps for Employing Time-Dependent Address Usage.

·        Business Partner Categories

As well as the business partner categories Person and Organization, the SAP Business Partner also has a Group category. This is a group of natural persons, who appear together as a business partner (married couple, shared living arrangement, for example). All business partners with the corresponding relationships for which the group indicator was set in Customizing, under Settings for Conversion and Parallel Maintenance of TR BP and SAP BP -> Conversion: Phase I -> Assign TR BP to SAP BP -> Control Data -> Relationship Categories, are changed to a group during the conversion (report RFTBUP02).

·         Relationships

SAP Business Partner relationships do not quite correspond to Treasury Business Partner relationships. If the delivered relationship categories are insufficient to meet your requirements, you can create additional relationship categories in the application development menu for the SAP Business Partner for Financial Services in the customer namespace (this means that the names of the relationship categories begin with Y or Z).

·         New Customizing tables for the SAP Business Partner

In the SAP Business Partner, you define academic titles and forms of address in Customizing, whereas in the Treasury Business Partner, you enter the data in text fields, and store it in table BP000. With the report Generate Further Customizing Tables (RFTBUC03), data from table BP000 is used to build the corresponding Customizing tables for the SAP Business Partner.

·         Integration of bank details

The bank details for the SAP Business Partner are stored in a separate database table and are independent of the customer. This enables a business partner with no customer to carry bank details. You will find further information under Structure linkBank Details

·         Link to customer

You will find further information under Link to Customer for SAP Business Partner and Link to Customer During Parallel Maintenance Phase.
