Use

All remote SAP systems known to the CCMS monitoring architecture are listed on the Monitored Remote SAP Systems tab page of the Topology Display along with their connection properties. This allows you to obtain a quick overview of which systems are monitored using the monitoring architecture.

For more information about how to start the topology display, see Calling the Display of the Technical Topology.

Features

The system displays the following columns as standard in Monitored Remote SAP Systems.

Column

Meaning

System

System ID of the monitored system

Read Destination Data

RFC destination of the monitored system that the central monitoring system uses to read data; use the CSMREG user for this purpose. The CSMREG user may only call certain function modules (see also: Monitoring Multiple SAP R/3 Systems: Define RFC Connections)

Destination Analysis

RFC Destination of the monitored system that the central monitoring system uses for analysis and auto reaction methods; use your own user name for this purpose (see also: Monitoring Multiple SAP R/3 Systems: Define RFC Connections).

Comm. Status

Communication status from the point of view of the local system; there are the following possible values:

  • ONLINE
  • OFFLINE
  • SHUTDOWN
  • COMM.FAIL

If an RFC call fails (for example, in the case of the Test connection command, or the Logon to SAP system command), the system displays COMM.FAIL. After a successful RFC call, the system resets the communication status to ONLINE.

Changed by

User who last changed the communication status

Change Date, Change Time

Date and time at which the communication status was last changed.

You can also show the following columns by choosing the Change Layout button for the Structure linkALV Grid Control.

Column

Meaning

Version

Internal version of the CCMS monitoring architecture.

Comm. Prio.

Communication priority; there are two possible values:

  • Standard: RFC communication stakes place over a defined ABAP interface.
  • Agent Preferred: Preferred RFC communication takes place using a Structure linkCCMS Agent.

Comm.Type

Communication type; depending on the definition of the RFC interface, one of the following values is displayed:

  • SAP R/3 Connection
  • TCP/IP Connection to Agent

See: Structure linkDestination Types

Activities

In addition to the display functions, the following commands are available to you as pushbuttons int eh ALV Grid Control:

Command

Explanation

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Test Single Connection

When this command is started, the logon screen of the selected system is displayed. After you logon, the system displays a message with the connection status of the selected system.

Choose Edit ® Connection Test to All Systems if you want to test the connections to all systems.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Create Remote System

With this pushbutton, you start the Create Entry for Remote Monitoring process (see Monitoring Multiple SAP R/3 Systems: Define RFC Connections).

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Logon to SAP System

You can directly log on to systems for which an RFC destination is specified for analysis. When you do so, the system displays the Monitoring: Properties and Methods screen of transaction RZ21 for the relevant system as the initial screen.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Delete an entry

With this command, you can delete the entry for the monitoring of a remote system. In doing this, you do not delete the associated RFC destination.

Note

This command is only available in change mode, which you start by choosing the Display « Change pushbutton (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

Change Communication Status
(Only in change mode)

If you no longer wish to monitor a remote system, choose OFFLINE. It remains in this status until you set it to ONLINE again. Do not set COMM.FAIL or SHUTDOWN manually.

Change RFC Destination
(Only in change mode)

You can change the RFC destination (Read data and analysis) directly in the ALV Grid Control. Use an existing RFC destination to do this.
